Porto Romano Free Port Zone
Porto Romano Free Port Zone is located in Durrës, Albania in a specific area, which is not separated from the rest of the territory, into which all kinds of goods are shipped. As long as they remain under special terms — there is no storage time limit — products are not subject to import duties, internal taxes (VAT or excise tax duties) or commercial policy measures.
Porto Romano Free Port Zone is at the service of companies with international trade relations who wish to leverage competitive tax advantages.
Concessionaire MBM Port (MBM Port) is a joint company established in 2015 assigned to administrate Porto Romano Free Port Zone in accordance with the Decree no. 493 of Council of Ministers dated 11.07.2019 “On the definition of a free zone of a part of the customs territory of the Republic of Albania in Porto-Romano”.
The tax-free zone covers an area of 1,034,552 m2 and a port is included in the free zone. A private security company ensures safety 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Free Port Zone is highly attractive area thanks to its geographic position in the Dalmatian coast, greatest port capacity for loading/unloading and its proximity to the neighbor countries. It is also a voting member of the World Free Zones Organization.
